Thanks. Looks like the club are supporting it. Have you an issue with it? Is that why you have posted the thread title in capitals?

Thanks for the link. Fully behind this - excellent idea and from the club for supporting it too. I've been meaning to make this year's donation and keep forgetting. Your link prompted me to get around to doing it just now. Nice one.

Seems a bit odd that story - they seem to be supporting it without supporting it. There is no reference to wearing away kit at any home game there, and Gillingham away we would have worn the away kit anyway?

Certainly the team themselves wearing an away kit at home would have more impact, yes. Not really been advertised well either if people are only just hearing about it after the game has been postponed, but at least if it gets out there...

TOWN SUPPORT SHELTER'S #NOHOMEKIT CAMPAIGN on 15:09 - Dec 24 with 1011 views | J2BLUE | While this is nice I question how much impact it will have? As a society we seem to latch on to things which which make a big show but make no actual difference (clap for NHS/carers etc). Football has a massive amount of support and interest. Why not run a campaign of donating 0.5% of your monthly net income for example? A tiny fraction of your income but repeated by fans around the country. Am I being miserable or am I right? You could rightfully point out that I could still do it and the campaign will have raised my awareness but things like this just feel like ticking a box and then forgetting about it. To be clear, this is in no way aimed at the club who are rightfully supporting it.

TOWN SUPPORT SHELTER'S #NOHOMEKIT CAMPAIGN on 17:36 - Dec 24 with 948 views | el_nino | I liked Brentford’s idea of deciding not to bring out a new kit every season. If every club did the same it could be linked to this campaign of course. Encourage fans to make a small donation to Shelter rather than buying a new kit every year. This would have a much greater impact and be better for the environment. Obviously the clubs would take a significant hit in revenue so it’s likely a non-starter but it would show real intent to support a cause. #NoNewHomeKit [Post edited 24 Dec 2021 18:03]

I feel like I’ve read somewhere that the league, whilst supportive of the scheme, can’t allow away kits for home games for some reason. May have just been prem though.
