I suppose it is OK, in the same way that believing wrestling is a sport.
A BBC2 documentary way back, provided evidence of how it was the sponsors and the advertisers who decided when something happened - and strangely when the question was put whether they may have some influence on the result those interviewed were rather coy - and certainly did not come out and state that there no foundation of truth in it whatsoever.
So you pays your money, and you takes your choice. if men in white tights and make up, with 80's shoulder pads is your thing then enjoy - but for those outside the US it is little more than a costume drama, with enough 'stats' regaled to keep even those with autism satisfied.
But to call it a 'sport', does rather exaggerate things. |
Yes, each to their own. I believe it is a sport and I enjoy watching it. Having seen it, its for real. Has there been corruption in the past? Like most sports, yes. I also like Baseball and Ice Hockey but hate basketball. Do I believe these, Snooker, darts and motor racing are sport? Well, they're competition with winners and losers so for me, yes. |  | | |

NFL is one thing but just starting right now is the College National Championship Final at a 120,000 stadium. Absolutely buzzing for it.
I genuinely prefer college football for both viewing and betting and this game is the equivalent of the super bowl. If anyone is up and at a loose end, get BT on the box and watch the game. Begins any minute now - Georgia v Alabama.
The undoubtedly best two teams in the biggest game. |  |
