I was reading the other day about Brian Wilson's unreleased 'Sweet Insanity' album, which included this rap number sampling various beach boys classics.

To call it an abomination is probably too kind.

I only watched some kind of monster for the first time fairly recently. Lars and hetfield really are prize weapons aren't they? More so than I'd already assumed.

I would recommend 'Mission to Lars', it does show Lars in a slightly different light.

Add to that Metal Music Machine by Lou Reed. I love everything else he did (even Songs for Drella)

If you're talking bad Beach Boys this is well dodgy. Basically a song about grooming.

Paul McCartney - Frog Chorus, Mull of Kintyre & countless others.
Stevie Wonder - The Secret Life of Plants
David Bowie - Tonight
Elton John - A Single Man
The Who - Its Hard
Led Zeppelin - Presence

I don't mind It's hard. Compared against Who's next or Quad it is no where near, but there are still a few decent tracks on there. Eminence Front for example.
I certainly prefer it to Endless Wire.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

Lou Reed was remarkably patchy in his output.

(Edit: I posted this before seeing the Reed stuff further down the thread)

e.g.

and (which is, at least, a jolly tune)

I actually quite liked that one. Drone rock combined with nihilist beat poetry.
