Are we really going to miss any of them ? 11:37 - Feb 7 with 1272 viewsmarkchips

I refer to the departures in the January window- namely Harper, Fraser, Barry, Coulsen, Nsiala, Clements, Nolan, Holy, Kenlock.

They were all done as far as I could see.

Some of them - notably Harper and Clements - will be back. Those are loans for development.

Clements contract expires in the summer, although we have an option for an extra year - at this point I'd be surprised if we take the option, unless he performs brilliantly at Stevenage.

Corrie Ndaba is still around as well and had been playing well at Salford, and would be ideal as a left-sided centre-back.

Re-reading McKenna's comments, he wasn't exactly effusive about Clements' future at the club. Not in the way he was about Harper.

A fit Coulson is a big miss. Harper needs to play football but I think he'll come good here next year.

Weird one that, thought he looked a great player for definite step up on Penney, Thompson, KVY, would understand if he was injured but played at the weekend.

The only Muff in Town.

Only Harper for me that I think we'll hope can come back and be involved next season. Agree with some comments on here that Mckenna didn't seem too worried about keeping Clements and from what I've seen of him, he's not of the quality we need going forward.

Those were the comments I was referring to. Unlike Harper, he doesn't talk about 'coming back to pre-season hopefully fit and hungry and really willing to make a good impression', just 'what’s going to be right for him for next year.'

I may be reading too much into it and perhaps Clements is further down than Harper in the pecking order, so less need to be talked up. Or it's different psychology for individual players. I'm not suggesting for a minute that Clements is going to be discarded, but the tone is more different than I'd thought.

Harper has been particularly awful, I am shocked that Edwards is getting games also as he’s absolutely dire.

Yeah it's more along the lines of discussing his contract status as opposed to offering him a new contract.
