Guthrum's Estimated Final Table 10:12 - Mar 1 with 3322 viewsGuthrum

Finally, the original, the real thing. No jubbly calculations. Based on recent form (but few enough games now not to include the era pre-McKenna).

I know it's not as good looking as the last couple of Calculated ones, but it also gives less weight to short-term trends.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

So we have Wycombe only scraping 10 points out of their final 33 (despite winning 3-0 tonight) likewise Sunderland only getting 10 out of 33

whereas Bolton are set to achieve 25 points out of their final 33 with games v Pompey, Plymouth, Weds and Wigan

'you are entering the realms of fantasy here Jones'

otherwise a bad night all round with Wycombe, Weds and Wigan all winning - and when Oxford lose, it is to one sneaking up on the inside

calculations based on points per game, has after 46 games
5th Sheff Weds 82 points
6th Plymouth 78 points

Sunderland/Wycombe 77

so, 26 needed out of our final 33

you think Bolton are going to win 8 of their last 11 games?

I appreciate they have a few bottom teams, but a lot seem away which their record isn't very good. Then Portsmouth, Plymouth, SHeff Wed and Accrington at home.

If they do that then fair enough and they deserve to get in the playoffs.

Apart from a few teams at either end, anyone can draw/beat anyone so I think these things are a bit pointless even if slightly interesting to see people's views.

I don’t think Bolton will be in the playoffs, nor Ipswich.
Having said that when I did the league calculator, I had us pinching 6th place.
But the problem with league calculators is when you get to a tough game, you tend to predict a draw. So you end up getting more draws than what’s normally the average which skews the table.
So much depends on us not dropping many points at home.
The last two draws have seemingly damaged our hopes but you never know.
It’s very tight at the bottom as well so no one will gift teams points.
