So you’re saying you’d be in hospital or die if you didn’t have the three jabs?

I said you’d likely feel the same, based on the fact this variant is significantly weaker than what we were dealing with at the outset. Although even if it wasn’t you’d likely be fine unless you’re elderly and or vulnerable. I base this on actual data and fact from countries like South Africa. Check their vaccine rates and deaths and hospitalizations during Omicron wave.

I’m vaccinated myself but people who under 70 who think the vaccine has changed their entire experience of covid in 2022 are likely kidding themselves at this point.

I'm not at all saying I'd likely be in hospital or die if it weren't for the jabs. But it was reported in the news (in this country, which is all that's relevant to me) that deaths and hospitalisations have reduced since the jabs. They've said even if you get it you're less likely to be hospitalised.

Why did you get vaccinated if it makes no odds?

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

What a strange response. The pandemic is global if you hadn’t heard. The dominant strain now is the same strain of that I was referencing but feel free to ignore that and just credit the vaccines.

I got vaccinated in May 2021 because I was trying to do my part, the more people that have protection the better. I wasn’t particularly concerned if I got it (and believe I had it in April 2020 when no tests were available). But certainly wanted the extra level of protection before seeing my elderly loved ones and mixing with older people in general.

Anyway at the time we were told the efficacy rates were in the 90 percentiles. This unfortunately shifted dramatically but at the same time the strains were getting weaker and more transmissible. I decided against a booster after having covid in recently (and was completely fine).

Nothing strange in my response, I was making a comment on the news (and vaccines) in the UK. Things (and indeed vaccines in many cases) are different in other countries.

You've contradicted yourself. On one hand you're saying the vaccines haven't made much of a difference, on the other you're saying the more people protected (with vaccines) the better.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

You’re making it up. Why don’t people read my responses rather than taking on some weird anti vaccine narrative. All I said is you likely wouldn’t have felt much if any difference when recently contracting covid. You’re the one who went all big picture.

The vaccines were a very important tool in fighting this virus, especially for the vulnerable and when strains were more dangerous.

The weird anti vaccine narrative is only coming from you.

Anyway, I should be resting up not wasting my energy on this nonsense.
