Three points out of 12 from Morecambe, Cheltenham, Cambridge and Shrewsbury… 17:07 - Apr 9 with 2889 viewspointofblue

under McKenna. That’s nowhere near good enough for a promotion side.

The season’s dead, he probably deserves credit for keeping it alive for so long, but after such an excellent performance against Plymouth we’ve looked limp for three halves out of four in the last two games.

Is it time for the youngsters? Possibly but we should probably field the strongest XI against Rotherham and Wigan as they’ve managed to put themselves in a position to have something to play for.

Not looking forward to Wigan one bit.

Poll: Who would you play at right centre back on Saturday?

It’s a bit like the “well, the football’s better” comments which became increasingly sarcastic post Mick. It is an improvement in terms of professionalism and approach but points on the pitch is under 2 ppg. McKenna’s done a good job so far but it feels like the last two games has see regression when compared to the three performances before then.

You do know that we will see a bit of regression throughout the season, right?

I mean if we don’t then we will win the champions league in 2026.

Too often we do when playing teams who sit deep and tell us to break them down.

When teams come to play, we look really good, hence the three games I noted before in Portsmouth (to an extent), Oxford and Plymouth. That resulted in all three using the dark arts to disrupt the game but when we could play we really played well.

To be fair, I think the loss of Jackson has affected us badly as, with our style of play, having pace up front is a real need to break the lines. Without that we're too slow when looking to go forward, allowing teams to get themselves organised.

If we’re going to blame Jackson’s absence through injury for the collapse of our play-off challenge we are in trouble.

You do love to come on and have a pop at McKenna whenever we drop points

That is what you used to do when Cook was in charge. Whenever we were dropping points you loved having pops at him.

Whether the OP is right or wrong is a different story.
