Long story short - I am in Istanbul and have met a Ukranian family fleeing the conflict. Two sisters, one with two daughters (both under the age of 10).
Their story is amazing and their resilience even more so. Coincidentally, they are all massive Ed Sheeran fans... naturally I told them about the connection to Ipswich (and that Ed is my age but went to a different school).
I've decided to bite the bullet and tweet Ed and the club to try and orchestrate Ed to send a greeting video to the family. I'm probably being optimistic as I'm sure these requests are very frequent, but I also know the power that TWTD has to make things happen.
For obvious reasons I will refrain from posting photos and identities of the family I have met, but I would like to think there is a chance Ed and the club would recognise this if it gained some traction.

He pops over to mine to borrow the pool scoop all the time, or rather the pond scoop. We often go to the pub in Dennington to have a Steak and Ale pie when he gets back from a long tour. Once I suggested we go to the Saxtead Windmill, but that didn't end well at all. Taylor Swift got off her copywritten t*ts on Aspals and started to throw stones at all the Caravans as they passed by - an ugly day for the area and one I don't wish to re live. | |
