This is my view, he really isn’t twice as good as 2 very good players |
For me we'll struggle to find an attacking midfielder who is very likely to contribute open play goals and assists as regularly as Celina did last season whatever price we're paying. And that I don't think he showed his max ability for most of last season.
At half the wages, extremely doubtful we find anyone better than what's currently in the squad, certainly not in forward positions.
If it doesn't happen, we'll still be fine, neither Rotherham or Wigan had a Celina-type player last season and we'll find other ways to score goals. But he'll still definitely be a loss and I think people are a bit blasé about what we could actually replace him with, whilst in League One. |  |

All the candidates I've seen for Celina's spot are (a) not as good (b) might be as good, but a bigger risk or (c) don't seem to be realistic targets for us.

I don't think any one single player will be decisive in us winning promotion, that's about how well you work as a unit.
The division was won last season by a forward line of Callum Lang, Will Keane and James McClean. They're all good players but I don't think any would've predicted that as a league-winning attack.
With or without Celina we've got enough at the club to challenge for the top if we get things right as a group. But ... I still think it would fiendishly difficult to sign someone as good as Celina for that role. | |
