Football club also rightfully remembering we are league 1 and have certain financial restrictions to adhere to so if we are still looking at other players in other positions we need to do what we can to fill the most important positons over 1 which is already covered in worst case scenario.

a niche perspective

Absolutely. Celina is good, but is he that much of a differentiator to justify huge wages? Probably not.

Oh, and it’s Twitter, so some people will dismiss it (even though it’s from his Dad!)

Quite. Either he comes here for the money we can offer him, or off he pops somewhere else (being polite). Quality, but we don’t want someone (’s agent) holding us hostage.

He doesn’t appear to inundated with other offers either.

Mark Steed said something recently about Ashton having to justify his investments.

I like Celina, but I can imagine Ashton used the 'I know his wages are high, but this lad will be the difference that gets us promoted' line last season.

We also have other heavy investments for that position too.

Celina's dad is looking through Mercedes brochure...
I'm a big Celina fan. But I think Dijon got their pants pulled down when they gave him that contract.. Maybe Ashton can pull their pants down again, and get them to pay a chunk of his wages, for the last year of his contract..?

I have to say I'm almost impressed that we have supporters who, at a time the club is better funded than it has been for years, are very publicly whining that we don't spend enough.

Bravo.
