One important *however* to highlight though - speaking as a female who was at school in the 1950s & 60s & who never had the chance to play football until I was 52 (oh the excitement of getting my first pair of boots & shinpads!) can everyone please spread as far & wide as poss, and put pressure on those with influence, something that Ian Wright passionately implored from the comm box last night, ie
"All this is for nothing if there is no legacy. Only 60% of girls are given the opportunity to play football at school. This *must* change to make it 100%".
