Dean Lewington 15:57 - Aug 13 with 2023 viewssurreyblue

It feels worthwhile giving a shout out to the longevity and loyalty of Dean Lewington, who both starts today and also started the March 2004 Division One Wimbledon vs Ipswich game 18 years (!) ago. Wonder if there will be many (any?) more one club players like him.

He's a two club man.

Winkelman renounced the Wimbledon FC history and gave it back to the Borough of Merton in 2007.

I can remember his dad playing!
That makes me feel particularly ancient.

Great Uncle Bulgaria's dad used to play professional football?

Great achievement, although judging by today this might be his last season. 38 years old with a complexion which generally doesn’t like heat, up against Wes burns. Tough afternoon.

Just googled him - to date he’s made 888 appearances. Absolutely remarkable

That’s him.
I remember him playing for Chelsea, which is basically just a wealthier version of Millwall..

I remember him playing for Fulham. Also Woy's assistant for England.
