Absolutely. I've had to attach a long hose to the overflow pipe to keep the water away from the house.

Given the rain we've had recently, I reckon this could have easily amounted to the capacity of 20 water butts. It's a shame this couldn't be put to greater use, eg. to top up the hot water system or be stored up for the garden for next summer.

Maybe I need to install a water tower in my garden just like the one on the way into Felixstowe.

At least the water is no longer coming through my kitchen ceiling.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Yes, I got the email yesterday and it's not stopped raining since.

Obviously that's not the issue though, the reserves need to be replenished and that'll take a lot more rain than we had last night.

Is this a new thing for you lot over there? After complaining that it was too hot last week, it's done nothing but rain here since the weekend. Half term innit.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Not in Suffolk to be fair although we've had a few monsoons in the last month or so in North Herts. Hopefully a few more to come. When i take the junior F's to Uni in Nottingham i always go the way that takes me past Rutland Water which was well down in level during the summer and only slightly higher around 5-6 weeks ago.
