Can't see how Rhodes would fit in. We are about movement and hard press. He does neither. Static in the box most of the time. Keane would be ideal but can't see that happening, basically a non starter.

But the point is not how good a marksman Rhodes is, but how he fits into the current setup. Would he be able to do the Ladapo hold-up role, or just lurk in the box* expecting "service"? * In League One, likely surrounded by four or five opponents.

He’s be a great player to play for an hour or bring on for half an hour to do either or both of those things. The idea a 32yo Championship striker can’t hold the ball up is deranged.

Sorry but you're miles off with this. He's never been a worker and is even less so now, he might be able to hold the ball up but it's unlikely he'd be seeing much of it anyway.

I'm not disputing his qualities, but there's no way he fits in with the way we play.

That may be true from a technical perspective although I am not sure I agree. I’m more amazed that TWTD thinks a player with 600 appearances is notorious for not working hard. Well I’m not amazed really as this is TWTD.

I don't think he works hard enough for the team ethos no, I think he works hard for his own game, there's a huge difference, but this being you and TWTD then there's no surprise in you not recognising that.

Nobody is arguing his ability and quality, rather questioning how that would dovetail into our team, and the reality is that without major changes to the way we play it wouldn't.
