Flat roof replacement - quote 12:32 - Nov 12 with 880 views | Zx1988 | Following on from my post a couple of weeks back regarding the saga with our flat roof, could I have some thoughts on the reasonableness of this quote please? The roof is 1400mm x 1800mm and of fibreglass construction. 1) Supply and erect a scaffold tower for safe working and storage 2) Remove two rows of tiles and set aside for reuse 3) Remove the flat roof, as this falls into the property, and cart away 4) Remove insulation and cart away 5) Supply and fit new firring pieces to the roof with a fall to the side, install new insulation as required, and supply new 18mm OSB decking including lay boards 6) Supply and fit all required trims including raised edge over the front door 7) Supply and apply a GRP system to the decking and lay boards with a gel top coat 8) Re-lay the tiles and valley and bed the valley on completion 9) Clear away any excess materials on completion and leave site clean and tidy Cost: £1,712.80 + VAT Thanks! | |

Flat roof replacement - quote on 13:55 - Nov 12 with 743 views | Pinewoodblue | As others have said it sounds cheap, how long are you expecting the new roof to last, remember if the price is cheap they are using the cheapest materials. From memory that isn’t much more than insurance company paid to replace a flat roof almost 30 years ago, but then the insurers did complain we had a Rolls Royce roof fitted. Happened four days before Christmas, insures declined to inspect said pay for it and we will refund. [Post edited 12 Nov 2022 13:58]
