Ladapo 17:27 - Jan 2 with 797 viewskizaitfc

Personally I like Ladapo, but if someone asked me what type of striker is he I would struggle to give an answer.

He isn't a target man, he isn't a poacher, he isn't a finisher, he isn't a runner, he isn't a back to goal striker.

IMO we need a specialist of one of the above, preferably a poacher/finisher like Danny Ings type.

We cannot continue to dominate games a struggle to score more one goal and expect to get promoted

He’s a hold up striker. He keeps the ball and brings others into play. For Rotherham he was best in a front two - so naturally we sign him then try and shoehorn him into a one up top.

He's looked best when we play it into his feet and let him bring others into play. We did it against Oxford and then for some reason in the first half at Pompey didn't.

His finishing can be questionable though...

So basically you don't like his strength, his first touch, his finishing, his pace, his hold up play, his awareness, his passing, his heading or his flick ons.

What aspects of him as a 'striker' do you like?

I realise I am putting words into your mouth, but the above are some of the key attributes of the roles you've said he can't play.

I did not say that, I think he is decent at most of the things you mention but he is not a specialist at any of them.

As mentioned above his best attribute is probably his hold up play but when you are plying 2 no. 10s it isn't what is required.

I think that's why KM likes to play KJ and liked John-Jules when he was fit. I would be very shocked if we didn't see a striker come in January

Sorry, I did edit my post and was being very facetious with it.

Decent is generous though IMO.

He is a decent striker, as many have said over other posts he is best suited as a second striker not a lone striker.

Many have claimed we don't need another striker but personally I think the past few weeks have shown it is inevitable we need to bring 1 maybe even 2 attacking players in.

My key aim would be Whittaker on loan at Plymouth.

What does that make Jackson then?

League One stats
Jackson 6 goals in 60 games (one in every 10)
Ladapo 56 goals in 141 game (One in less than 3 games)

And that's with Ladapo not even playing in a role where his key requirement is to score goals and when Jackson has been.

I know people like to slag Ladapo off because they like to have a scapegoat, but the fact is that Jackson is a far bigger problem.

Whittaker plus an experienced option.
