The thread about winning goals, made me hark back to the "phoenix score". I did a blog about this a few years back.... essentially looking at points won from losing positions...

https://www.twtd.co.uk/blogs/21692/phoenix-from-the-flames/#0

This was in the time of MickMc, and we picked up about 30% of available points from losing positions...

I just ran the same check on League one...

Plymouth Argyle 51.85185185
Bolton Wanderers 38.88888889
Derby County 37.03703704
Portsmouth FC 30.55555556
Sheffield Wednesday 28.57142857
Ipswich Town 28.57142857
Port Vale FC 27.08333333
Fleetwood Town 27.08333333
Exeter City 26.19047619
Shrewsbury Town 22.91666667
Cambridge United 22.80701754
Wycombe Wanderers 18.18181818
Bristol Rovers 17.77777778
Peterborough United 16.66666667
Oxford United 13.88888889
Burton Albion 12.96296296
Charlton Athletic 12.82051282
Cheltenham Town 11.9047619
Morecambe FC 11.9047619
Accrington Stanley 11.76470588
Lincoln City 11.11111111
Forest Green Rovers 5.555555556
Barnsley FC 4.166666667
Milton Keynes Dons 2.083333333

That ability of Plymouth to pick up points from losing positions is a standout... but does that tell us that they are mentally strong..... or performing above their quality, and are likely to drop off.... time will tell, I suppose.

As I posted earlier today, Plymouth losing Whittaker is a big deal and will affect them. I've no doubt they'll have a blip in the near future.

We just need to up our game again to be ready to take advantage of that.

They have conceded more than us despite having probably the best keeper in the division this season. Most of the defensive stats such as shots faced, xGA, etc put them in the bottom half.

I'm sure it will be something that Schumacher is conscious of and will be working on but if they lose one or two of the players who have rescued them they could find life more dificult
