Town wage bill over £11m a year... 12:54 - Jan 18 with 6119 viewsFarmerpiles

....massive by League One standards. According to Charlie Wyett's column in The Sun today. 'And expected to throw more cash around over the next few weeks'.

It becomes an issue if achievements on the pitch don't match the investment.

At present, we are there or thereabouts.

Yeah, it also becomes an issue if a meteorite lands on Ipswich, or a hurricane wipes out the stadium... Wish people would stop panicking about negative "possibles".
Isn't it great to finally have an ownership that backs us financially?
I'm sure the maths is done by those that need to, before money is spent.
And I suspect there are a lot of achievements "off" the pitch, that show encouraging signs to our investors..
It's not a get rich quick scheme.

We are a very small fish in the grand scheme of the PSPRS portfolio.

We are fortunate enough that Mark Steed has seemingly enjoyed being engaged/owning Town, and has enjoyed his time when he has been over here.

But from a financial perspective, last time I checked we were a drop in the ocean for them - there asset allocation showed near $3bn in cash alone, $4bn in global private equity and $1.5bn in private diversifying strategies alone - with another $10bn placed around in other pools of investment.

Mark Steed is a serious man, and I have no doubt will be putting serious demands on Mark Ashton constantly, but this will also be a long term vision for them - and ultimately a smaller investment initially for what could be a long term return if/when we reach the PL.

What does everyone think by the end of summer we'd have spent on off and on pitch stuff... since new owners came in? i've said end of summer just coz that;s when pitch will be done.

got to to close to £9-10 mill hasn't it? excl player wages..
Players, screen area, pitch this summer, land purchase, demolition, staff costs, recruitment costs, agents, new IT system, PA system etc etc I've no idea on the costs of such activities like the new Groundsman entrance etc, but with the increase in materials and labour etc, it couldn't have been cheap.. Pitch this summer alone is around £1mill and that's without the undersoil stuff.

I may be underplaying the outlay, but if we've put up £3 mill alone on 2 players to start with it's kinda going that way...

a niche perspective

Difficult to say with so much infastructure works happening, land acquisitions, Playford road renovation, squad recruitment - it’s really hard to say.

As a wild guess I’d say north of £10m and possibly nearer to £15m.

It’s difficult to say with so much infrastructure work, land acquisition, Playford road development & squad recruitment - even things we are probably not privy to.

A stab in the dark, I’d say north of £10m and nearer £15m.

Fund Managers don't become successful by not keeping a strategic eye on all investments.

"I've told Mark (Ashton) that I’ll be impressed when we stop losing money and start winning games! Frankly, that’s how it works!"

Him and his team will analyse every investment very closely against their own investment parameters.

The fact that we are a small investment in relevant terms, doesn't mean that returns are not expected.

“Mark Steed is a serious man, and I have no doubt will be putting serious demands on Mark Ashton constantly”

As I stated.

Nice hyperbole.

Just stating facts darling.

Did you ignore the fact I said we are roughly on track? Did that not suit your agenda?

No agenda here...
Don't know what "hyperbole " means...
Just trying to view all the investments as a positive. And not the ball and chain that some comments allude to.
No offence meant..Didnt realise you were a bit sensitive. Sorry about that, flower.

I didn't say it wasn't positive. Just that there are risks and pressure.
