Think the injuries and illness in the run up to Christmas has possibly altered McKenna's concerns about working with a large squad. Better to manage it for a few months and ensure we have enough bodies to get us over the line than pick up a couple more knocks and miss out. |  |

I make it 23 senior players (including Ball and Camara) plus Humphreys, John Jules (if fit) and Smith (if he signs) who all count as U21s.
I am assuming that one or both of Ball and Camara will not be registered for the second half of the season, and if both, then this would give us the space for one more senior pro.
I am assuming that Penney will be moved on and none of the other loanees will return this window.
Of our current senior players, KVY and Keogh are both out of contract this summer and could be moved on this month. Could we upgrade the centre back position and allow Keough to join the coaching set up, which I understand is the medium term plan?
We also know that KM is keen to send Ahadme back to Burton and as much as I like watching Edwards play, his end product is not going to get him regular game time in this team if everyone is fit.
So the appears to scope to both trim the squad and add another player or two. | | | |

Have to assume both Ball and Camara will be omitted from the final squad, given their injury situations..
Not sure where that leaves us on numbers. We'd have had 3 in the door, if Clarke gets done.. Who's to say we won't see any more?
Maybe, and it's a big maybe, but if the right player turned up, perhaps TJJ could also be omitted and loan terminated depending on his progress? Broadhead kind of covers the TJJ role of being able to play up front or slightly deeper, imo. Even if it looked like KM wanted to keep TJJ in the picture, originally. With the new additions, that could change? |  | | |

I'm pretty confident that this has all been factored in. Ball not in squad, Ahadme back to Burton even if it would cost more than preferable, Keogh moved into a coaching role are all easy to do. I'm sure they have plans. |  | | |
