Yes I saw that. Barry Bannon has been out with a hamstring since mid December. Best midfielder in the division but Sheff Wed have carried on winning every match. He should be fit for Fleetwood on Saturday.

It's what you need. It's a ridiculously high bar for the auto promotion places. Look across the other leagues as well and it's very similar, although L1 is slightly higher (at the moment) than other leagues in the EFL.

PL - 2.25 pts/game (needed for top 2 currently)
Ch - 2.04
L1 - 2.15
L2 - 2.11
Nat - 2.3 (but played 1 more game, so could end up being higher)
Nat N - 2.08
Nat S - 2.04 (but played 3 more games, so could end up being higher)

Tho they did draw two-thirds of the League matches in that time period. Plus losing one in added time.

Think the time period quoted is since the Plymouth game which they lost in added time, the reason the tweeter has referenced 90 mins is they lost on pens in the EFL Cup in November

Think you’ve also got a bit muddled with the number of draws as since then they have won 10 of 15 in the league (drawing the other 5 - so only1/3 of games not 2/3), or 13 of 19 in all comps with 3 other wins and the Southampton penalty defeat. It’s arguably more impressive to look a bit further back if doing league only - since losing to Barnsley on 3rd Sept they are P20, W13, D6 and L1. By comparison we have won 14 in total all season

Obviously fortunes could change quickly, especially if both us and Plymouth beat them in the coming weeks, but it’s looking very likely that they will go on and get one of the 2 promotion slots given their relentless form

Highlighting crass stupidity since sometime around 2010

Kind of annoying how everyone assumed they'd drop off in Bannan got injured as almost everything they did went through him but if anything they've improved.

They've had a few big results, mainly earlier in the season, but have got by with lots of 1-0 and 2-1 victories, especially away from home. Been very very good at keeping the opposition out and taking the chances they get which particularly at this level is the manual for automatic promotion.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Gareth Ainsworth described them as tough opponents following their win over his Wycombe side last week. They found a way to beat them and their sh1tehousing tactics. Why couldn't we do this a month before? Just do some homework on Wycombe instead of hundreds of passes without posing a threat to their goalkeeper.

Sheffield Wed 16 clean sheets which is by far most of the league. Only 4 points dropped from winning positions in compare to our 15. No wonder that they are quite far ahead of us at the moment.

I've been saying for months its SWFC we've needed to worry about and not Plymouth. If ever there was a "must win " game its that one in Feb...Do we have it in us to those though ? I'm really not sure.

Indeed - it’s going to take quite some turnaround in form to think about beating Sheff Weds. I’m sure the players know this and wonder if the pressure is getting to the team.

Maybe we need Eileen Drewery…

They cheated their way to a draw against us. Not looked back since. No action taken on crowd throwing objects on to the pitch. Worst intimidation of officials and our team since we relegated Leeds to Div 3 about 30 years ago. No flag for the sheffield equaliser, at least a yard offside. Sick of people saying what a good team blah blah.. Hope we hammer them at home.

They aren't a good team. They are a very good team, facts and numbers are speaking for themselves.

Big, physical side that can play and have kept some good championship players when they went down. A great mix, they can bully and outfootball sides.

I think they'll win it.
