Over the last two seasons them and Wednesday have culminated the highest points totals in L1, so not just this season. Or they have got extremely fortunate over last 80+ games. 🙄

Last season they failed to make the play offs when their luck ran out. They've had a decent amount of turnover of players since then as well so not really sure why it's relevant. Just look at their stats over the season and over individual games. They aren't a particularly brilliant side, they just manage to come out on the right side of fine margins a lot of the time.

That makes them a good side, surely.

Does it? Don't good sides play better than their opponents on a regular basis?

Since League 1 was set up 91 points has assured auto promotion. Might need more than that this year.

Your last sentence kind of contradicts itself.

Not really. Unless you think they are so good that they plan deflections, for example.

They are getting the job done and that’s all that matters at this time of the season, performances aren’t the most important thing. The stat that really matters - 0-1 and 3pts.

Take enough shots, work enough openings, keep it tight once ahead. It seems highly unlikely that things just happen to go their way over a prolonged period. Clearly they have a good manager who has built a very effective team.

However, there are small margins in the end. This season may well come down to a point or goal difference to decide automatic. That could be down to one thing going for or against a side over these last few games. But they say you make your own luck. COYB!
