Legitimate Transfer Targets 09:10 - May 15 with 6053 viewsCityBlue

Jan Paul van Hecke - CB- Brighton
Free agent summer, played on loan at Blackburn in Championship and won player of the year
Pros: age, height, international caps at U21, low fee/free

Reiss Nelson - RW - Arsenal
Contract expiring but wage demands within our reach and other option for him is West Ham who may yet fall into the relegation battle. Spent a season with Feyenoord on loan. Will have to act fast to beat West Ham to his signature.

Tom Davies - CM - Everton
Another out of contract player who may want to exit Goodison following such a terrible year for the Toffees. Good friend of Nathan Broadhead.
Age on his side and wages within reach - brings a wealth of premiership experience under successive poor managers.

Well they're totally different players in totally different situations for starters.

Yeah, obviously, nothing in common at all

Yeah, probably right, I mean, why would you want to send out an 18 year old for regular first team football in the Championship, nobody would be that daft. Hang on, what was that kids name that went to Sunderland? Oh, Diallo, that's the one, wonder why the idiots at Man U did that?

Maybe Arsenal will loan us Bukayo Saka as well

People are going to be disappointed if they're expecting these kind of signings. Nelson can do a good job in the premier league. No way he would drop a league.

I don't rate that Davies but hes most likely will be on big enough wages and a premier league team would probably take him.

People mention Ferguson from Brighton and Ward-Prowse is just ridiculous haha

Reiss Nelson? I'll have a pint of whatever you ordered, it clearly works!

No, I'm quite confident that the defining signing of this transfer window has not yet been named in speculation.

Trust in Ashton, trust in McKenna - they've earnt that trust, let's see how the summer goes and just enjoy the ride, eh?

Indeed, they have earned the trust.

As I said before, none of us have a clue what budget has been made available and until we see some solid player links and the "released list" at the end of the month, we don't even know exactly what areas McK thinks will need bolstering. One thing is for sure, we need a few players with quality above and beyond some of the existing squad and they don't come cheap at this level and above, so decent money will have to be spent.

I've seen quite a few names chucked around as potential targets and most of them have been laughed at, some are probably too far for us, but others are definitely plausible. Don't think a lot of people have caught up with the fact we're back in the Championship and have money, too much League 1 mentality flying around.

To be clear. Evan Ferguson is Brightons first choice number 9 now. Scored 4 prem goals in 7 starts, is being linked with the biggest clubs in the country and will be playing Europe next season with Brighton.

Your comparison with Diallo is not at all logical.

Nah.

We've done the whole "journeyman at the end of his career" thing many times before.
