Indeed. Anyone but Australia, as far as cricket is concerned. No wonder Moeen doesn't relish playing them. Good luck to him for making himself available for The Ashes.

India, with bowlers missing, are looking fairly flat as the Aussies score freely. That early wicket must seem a long time ago. Despite the ICC's efforts, it's pretty clear where this sits in the BCCI's list of priorities.

Think it’s important those three don’t get in the runs and into top form - nice that two of them are out now. Not sure it’s helpful the Aussies having a warm up test in England or that a few of them have had county games already.

India Cricket fans online are worse than Aussies, in my experience. Complete sense of humour failure. Quite an aggressive toxic nationalism, which Modhi has done his best to incubate. And it's kind of replicated when you are amongst them at a Test. You know how on one of the many days when England are getting rolled over, the number 9 batsman may half edge chasing a wide one and it fly for four? What's the correct response? An Ironic cheer, of course. When the same thing happens to India their fans jump to their feet and puff their chests out and give it the big I am. They would be psychologically incapable of singing "We're sheet and we know we are!" Very different worldviews. At least an Aussie could say "Fair dos" if we beat them. So, on balance, I would prefer Australia to win, and then for us to take the gloss off it by smashing them. Rather than play an Australia who lose to India, and then have all the Indian fans telling us that we are both rubbish.
Cricket: WTC Final on 16:10 - Jun 7 with 1209 views | SaleAway | Anyone thinking that England were going into the Ashes as favourites, should probably take today as a reality check. despite getting rid of the top order fairly cheaply, this is turning into Australia's day, having been put into bat. Smith working himself into form, and Travis Head continuing his recent great form. They are a formidable batting unit, and England are going to need to be very good to take 100 wickets across the series.

I think the underprepared Indian bowling attack getting carted around the place may well be a precedent for England, at least in some Tests.

Fair do's? I've yet to find an Aussie with an interest in sport, let alone talking about it after they've lost.
