For once, the usually money-grabbing Premier League has said from 2026/27 they're withdrawing the gambling association from shirt sponsorship, but the EFL extends their deal. Makes sense.

Not exactly hard to work out that the Premier League have far more options than the EFL though is it?

Would be nice for the same principles to be applied though.
No question but if the Premier League really cared they could top up the EFL's sponsorship money and allow them to pick a non gambling sponsor. When the EFL represent a lot of small clubs they are going to cash in and get the maximum money possible.
Sky are obviously going big on on the EFL with sponsorship and the new tv deal. Probably partly in preparation for losing some of the Prem rights. Not surprising they offered the most money.

If the EFL were interested in generating money for the clubs they would sell the rights to a streaming service. Less 3pm kickoffs but more money and more interest in the game from across the globe.

Isn't that sort of deal what they have done? Sky clearly offered the most money.
When you look at the clubs in the EFL it does seem an open goal to fairly cheaply acquire the rights, especially when the Prem rights are going to be interesting lots of big players.
