I’m convinced it’s down to money.
Historically they’ve spent based on parachute payments and significant sales ie the likes of Maddison and Buendia. The parachute payments have gone and they don’t have the same level of saleable assets that they’ve had in the past. Even if Aarons moves on, they’ll get nowhere near what they would have got 2 or 3 years ago.
Their recruitment reflects this imo. The wheel is turning. It’s our time to shine over them. |

25 million Delia would have took their hand off. AS for the 3 player Barnes, Duffy and Ince all decent championship players irrespective of age, Duffy would be a concern a 3 yr deal for a player who has not played many games last two or 3 yrs.
