I think they might have been able to ascertain the original screenshot of that booze up was from a video recording.
If not, why did they not ask if it was ?
Why did they not ask the 'photographer' what was happening at that booze up ?
No criticism can be made of the police, that they did not go inside

It was a private house. I doubt there was any police 'on guard'. But there certainly appears to have been negligence in following up the original photo.

I've not seen mich more beyond the video of the party and didnt see any police there. As you said it's a private residence, but I imagine there is security on the door due to it being one of the major political parties HQ. If there are people going in and out all of the time, then it was probably hard for the police to ascertain the purpose of the visitors.
However post the event, with plenty of documented evidence the police should have stepped in and done a lot more | |

I have never seen police outside Con HQ. Why would they be there ?
Security would mostly be a locked entry system, and it would be by the Con party themselves. These types of buildings are usually quite autonomous inside. I doubt many were working late that night, other than those working for the soon to be failed London Mayoral candidate.
I know I would have questioned the owner of the original photo.......'Were they one being photographed, did they take the photo etc
Either they did not. Or they did, and the info arising was 'sat on on'.
Given the implications, that decision would have only been made at the very top. The Met now lave the evidence of law breaking. What we the public don't know is what questioning followed the viewing of that photo by the police.
If evidence was hushed u, then on whose authority and what implications did it have for the criminal charges that followed elsewhere and the privilege's committee's investigation.
