sunderland - pre-match pub? 11:45 - Aug 3 with 1434 viewsGeomorph

Is there a main away fans pub that folks are heading for? Ended up at the pub at the ground last time and it was chaos with just 30k at the match

cheers for any info

Anywhere in Newcastle.

Poll: If KM goes now, will you applaud him when he returns with his new club?

The Colliery Tavern. It can get a bit full but there is plenty of outdoor space. Weather looking poor though.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over
Poll: What will be announced first?

Also interested in this as will be travelling up alone so an away pub before the game would be ideal

Sunderland is generally very away-friendly, more so than most placed we'll go this season. The Wetherspoons, inevitably, is always full of Town fans. My preference is one or other of the pubs down by the beach in Roker, about a 20-min walk from the ground, though the weather forecast isn't quite beach-compatible...

If you like real ale and craft beer and are getting the metro from Newcastle I suggest the Old Fox by Felling metro station.
