Interesting. I must confess I am curious to know why he left Barnsley. It seems a big drop in standard.

He was pretty popular there and effective when he played too.

They could have done with him today, they won't be able to rely on own goals carrying them through every game...

His hair was very short, he didn’t look particularly fit but it’s difficult to tell as he’s a chunky guy. Tbf, the service he received was nonexistent and Oldham didn’t appear to have a game plan plus he’s only been there a day or two.

As for why he went to Oldham, aren’t they considered the “money bags” of that league, big fish, small pond etc?

Presumably highest earner at Barnsley and they wanted to get him off the wage bill.

If he’s ended up at Oldham there can’t have been clubs queuing up to take him on the sort of money he was on can there.

Must be wondering what on earth he’s done. Left L1 Barnsley who won 7-0 to join National league Oldham who got humped by Southend. Early days but potential career suicide. Barnsley clearly accepted an offer for him and wanted him off the wage bill but he didn’t have to move.

He had an opportunity to step up when he arrived here in 2019, and while he was not a bad player for us at this level, he just didn't do it at Ipswich, was okay at Barnsley and that is why he has ended up back in non-league. He didn't handle the pressure of being at a club like Ipswich, the off-field stuff showed that, if he had knuckled down and focused on his playing he'd have been a hero, because he had enough to be a decent League One forward. He also needed to be a stone lighter.

The 2019-20 squad should have been enough to get us promoted, the fact they vanished for months and we ended up staying down on PPG is entirely on them and the has been manager Evans appointed to take us down there.
