Ipswich Witches on 21:19 - Oct 5 with 1118 views | yorkshireblue | Shame about the final result, but it's been a hell of a season to get this far. Personally think if it wasn't the play-off final the meeting whould have been called off early due to the conditions and safety of the riders - but maybe that is just sour grapes. Let's just hope a strong start and failing at the last hurdle isn't an omen for Ipswich sports teams this season!

Sheffield had 3 guests, bending the rules a bit isn't it?

It's one of the many strange rules and regulations speedway has. And these are why it looks like a ridiculous sport to the outsider. Besides, Belle Vue won the league, Witches won the KO Cup (speedway's equivalent of the FA Cup) and Sheffield won the Novelty TV Cup. Any sport that has a full league season and then doesn't declare the team that finishes at the top of the league the champions and instead has a play-off system to determine the winners has sold out to the TV companies and makes itself look tinpot. Speedway, netball and rugby league to name three - and I can't believe Eurosport actually put that much money into speedway, it was done a few years ago when Sky were putting more money in. And as for rugby league, television made them change from a winter to a summer sport! Madness.
