Thought I’d share with TWTD the pub bets I’ve made over the last year.
Oct 2022
1 x bet with Rotherham fan - ITFC will be in the Prem before Rotherham (£20)
1 x bet with Spurs fan - ITFC will be in the Prem by 2027 (£10 bet, 5/1 odds in his favour)
Summer 2023
I tried to make a £100 bet with a fan from every club in the Championship that ITFC will finish above them (if ITFC get promoted then all winnings go to charity)
- I secured this bet with 14 other clubs
Tonight
1 x bet that ITFC will finish above Villa next season (£100)
1 x bet that ITFC will finish above Arsenal (in their respective leagues) next season (£100)
I’m on to winner, right?

So the Arsenal bet has an insurance that if we don’t get promoted, I can still win the bet if our Championship finish is higher than their Prem finish.

I’d happily sacrifice £1,700 to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation if it results in ITFC going up. At the very least, I doubt I’ll end up owing a significant amount of money at the end of the season.
My Rotherham friend is a king among men. Any Sheffield based Rotherham fan deserves a lot of kudos. I would struggle to call that bet in to be honest! | |
