QPR have made 29th December a bit more interesting 10:49 - Nov 1 with 1773 views | soupytwist | Are we going to get the two toughest home tests of the season in consecutive games? McKenna ball against the new QPR manager’s approach could just lead to two teams trying to draw the other’s press onto them so they can play it out from the back and quickly get up the pitch to create chances. Will it be the ultimate expression of modern tactics resulting in everything collapsing in on itself and a rupture in the time/space continuum? Or will Cifuentes not have had enough time to turn André Dozzell into the Championship Xavi, making us lucky to play them early in his tenure? As ever Loft for Words has an entertaining and informative piece on their new manager.

But a consistent concern across QPR fans that Begovic is totally unsuited to the goalkeeping role that this approach requires.

Do they have a Czech reserve keeper who's a quick learner? Otherwise they could come unstuck.

He’s not an unknown though is he - maybe to the English game but not to football management.

As the Loft for Words article suggests, he's been one of the darlings of the tactics bloggers for a little while.

Not as far as I know! Actually the idea of a team trying to play like we do but with a keeper who constantly misplaces passes is pretty funny (from the vantage point of a team with two keepers who are good with their feet).

QPR have made 29th December a bit more interesting on 13:20 - Nov 1 with 1024 views | BigCommon | Takes ages to drill a team from Ainsworths hoof ball , to a McKenna ball type of style.. And that's , even, if you've got the right players in the building.. Can see them getting caught out , losing possession high up the pitch to start with, in their first few games. If they try to play out like we do... And our high press is obscene, works well because our players would die for each other. Again, that takes time to build in any squad.. They got a player in Sinclair Armstrong, though, imo.. He'll feel confident against us, given his display at Loftus Rd... (Cheeky Bid in January would be nice)
