....we are just getting on the other side of the margins after a start to the season when everything went our way. QPR, Sunderland, Southampton, Bristol City we saw a shot hitting both posts, a late wonder save, the ball hitting Hladky in the face, a shot squirming across the line and staying out. This is football, we do enough to win most games, but we aren't clearly better than the opposition like we were in League 1 so each win is big, each point is important and each game is a battle - even when playing the so called weaker teams. This little spell of getting on the wrong side of things has seen us accumulate 8 points from 4 games since the international break (1 home, 3 away). We are in a fantastic position - we've just forgotten as a fanbase that it isn't normal to win every game - Sheffield United went up last season and lost 11 games....we'd have to lose 10 out of 31 remaining for that......even if we do go up in the top 2 we are likely going to lose another 6 or 7 games this season There isn't a need for a big over analysis - when you listen to McKenna he’s already a few steps ahead. We aren’t playing our best team each game because we need to get Axel fit for December etc. Just managing the squad now and hope we are in a great position for the run in again - if that costs us some points at this time then that is clearly a price KM willing to pay to get everyone fit and purring for the business end of the season COYB | |
