Any gems from these types when they’ve engaged with you about ITFC and how we are doing?
Sunday had a Dad from the kids football team chewing my ear off about how we don’t want to go up this year because we’d get destroyed weekly.
Heard this a few times now so had to go back and question it a bit… ‘why even bother playing if we don’t want to go up? We’d invest in the team, infrastructure, possibly become a yo-yo team for a number of years, but what does that matter?’
Imagine being able to have that luxury of picking when to go up. And retain a great manager, top players.

We take every game as it comes and try to win each one. We are where we are at the end of all that, and we're doing remarkably well. Waaaay beyond all expectations. It would be mad to go out to lose just so we can consolidate in the top 6.
However we can't expect those same players that did so well in L1 to do the same in the prem so recruitment will be key and January will be indicative of our ambition. A similar window to last January would be amazing. 4 players that improve our first 11 make those people think that maybe we can compete in the lower half of the premiership. Then next summer we'd not need such a massive turnover.
January is really key! Replace those that are in the fringes with players that could become first choices in the premier league and evolve the team, like we've been doing. |  | | |

Seems crazy to me. Why wouldn't you want to go up? Even if you are instantly relegated, you come down with parachute money and a better chance to do it again.
Not going up would mean the likely loss of some key players like Davis, Broadhead, etc. which would make it harder the next year. |  | | |

I've got an Aussie mate here that has been totally converted to a Town Fan through me and has been following us for the last 4 odd years. He watches the odd game live (Not quite dedicated enough to get up in the middle of the night like me) but takes in all the interviews, highlights etc, etc. Knows all the players, loves KMc. A real convert. However ...
... we were discussing the upcoming important December fixtures when he said 'So, what's all this Norwich stuff all about'? He had no idea.

I can see where they're coming from in that going up would more than likely lead to a season of losing lots of games and having some weeks where we see about 20% possession.
However I think that more answers the question of 'which season do you enjoy the games more?'. Interesting to hear the thoughts of Sheffield United and Burnley fans come May.
Ultimately I agree with you though, if you're not competing to reach the summit then what's the point? And there's never a perfect time to arrive in the Premier League. A lot of fandom is driven by hope and blind optimism (less blind for us since KM arrived), and since Leicester won the league I feel like that has been reinvigorated within fans again. People saying it's too early to go up are probably too young to have experienced a promotion from the Championship.
A promotion season, and all the joy it brings is worth hitting the ground with a bit of a bump if it happens the following year, not that's guaranteed to happen.
Thought it was good at the end of last season? This could be another level. |  |

I think people just don't think about what they're saying. If you're good enough to go up from the championship, you should. Are they saying that you only want to go up from the Champ if you win it by x number of clear points? Such a stupid comment. |  | | |
