Baffling. Clearly the momentum of the ball is going beyond the striker and Lewis has turned with to head it on. He’s got his back to the striker, his eyes on the ball and his finger tips have flicked the face. At worst it’s a facial and head massage tomorrow morning, not a pen.

It is ridiculous. Every commentator now always says “oh we know what this means..” whenever a ref goes to the screen. Surely the on-field ref should be bold and brave enough to go with their own decision or just say NO to the VAR. |  |

I thought Ukraine should have had a pen in injury time too which didn’t even get a VAR review. Don’t think there was even a yellow brandished - it was either a pen or a dive; much more in favour of a foul. | | | |
