Norwich Tickets 12:23 - Nov 28 with 1898 viewsitfc56

Forgive me if everyone else understood this or I missed in earlier thread but I phoned the ticket office this morning to check whether my son who is a member without a season ticket but without the 3 games (he's been to three but has always used my or a friends season ticket) could buy tomorrow. I had assumed it was priority for loyalty and couldn't understand why I could now buy him a ticket (if any left) but he couldn't get one for himself. I was told that the 3 game limit has nothing to do with priority based on loyalty but is simply a "security' measure to stop Norwich fans buying a membership to get tickets and it will not be used for any other game this season however high demand is for tickets.

Frankly I don’t understand what else the club can do, they’ve had to manage it somehow, people will have still manipulated it, such as buying tickets and not attending, but it’s a high demand game with only so many seats to go around, if we do go up then they have a even bigger job to manage it but ultimately people are going to lose out.

Not sure that’s what the OP is saying. He’s saying that, according to the club, this is about security (given the opposition) rather than controlling demand. So unless both us and Norwich go up then it won’t be “a bigger job to manage” next year.

Quite, it's a piece of information for other people that they may find useful.

Interesting. I think some of our opponents last season did similar when we were away to make sure Town fans weren't buying in the home end. i.e. had to have a history of buying from the club previously, or checking postcodes. The postcode thing is obviously a lot more difficult when there's only 40 miles between the clubs, deducing if a Diss based purchaser is a Town or Norwich fan isn't straight forward.

Makes sense from a safety perspective. Although I'm not sure why a Norwich fan would want to see us slap them 5-0 from any seat in the ground, let along surrounded by Ipswich fans.

3 matches seems OTT to me.

Do the club really believe a Norwich fan is going to spend £40 on a membership, plus buy 1 or 2 random match tickets just so they can buy an Ipswich v Norwich match ticket?

Well there's apparently loads of Town fans buying away tickets galore they aren't going to use on top of membership
to attend the reverse fixture 🤷😉

I purchased a couple of early round league cup games at CR some years back to be on their system incase I missed on tickets in the away section
