I would much rather we went all out and tried to entice Laurence Shankland away from Hearts, I think four or five months with us in the second tier and he would be as ready as anyone for the step up to Premier League. Would be excellent for his development as a Scottish international as well, might get the thumbs up from Steve Clarke too. |  |

I'd be surprised if there isn't a good five years left in him yet, he has blossomed since the move to Hearts and his international career is only just taking off. He might be at the top end of the age range McKenna considers but if we do get promoted we cannot afford to fanny around developing young talent or squander our resources on established Premier League forwards. I think Shankland is our best chance of getting a gamechanger (pun intended) at a reasonable price and with true potential. | |

Watched him in the Europa League v Hacken earlier this season.
Looked a really good centre forward, showed he had a little bit of everything as well - not surprised he’s linked with Celtic.
Best player on the pitch was a lad called Ibrahim Sadiq who was genuinely unplayable for Hacken, he went to AZ Alkmaar a day later, I couldn’t believe it! [Post edited 11 Dec 2023 1:15]
