Is there really any demand for this? And isn't it ironic that the size listed on the bottle will be 586ml?

EDIT: this from the Guardian.

“No one is going to make a pint-sized bottle,” said one English winemaker, who asked not to be named because the debate about imperial measures was so “toxic”. “In order to make a pint-sized bottle you’re going to have to invest a huge amount of money. It’s a silly measure.”

So slightly smaller than the traditional size bottle, but not enough to make any real difference. Can see that being popular with producers.

Wine hasn't been sold by the pint (except Lucan's mate) since the 19th century.

Can't see bottle-makers tooling up to produce 568 ml bottles. Or wine-bottlers buying them.

So, who will benefit from this freedom, apart from the government and its 'brexit means freedom' mantra?

Even the Whitehall press machine knows this is such a ridiculous boast to make that they release it on a day when nobody is looking.
