Even if it takes a slight touch off him (which it didn't look like to me) the position of his arm means it's a pen under the current rules. Don't think we can claim it's an unfair decision in isolation.

Not really when it’s a four horse race, and we’re heading into a big game Monday with fewer options than we had at our last game against a vastly better team! That aside we need to be realistic, we’re probably not going to be promoted which is no shame considering the money we’ve competed with this season, but the parachute teams have been relentless and we’ve not had the squad to maintain our run. It will be a similar challenge next season and it could take up to 5 years to get promoted and that’s if we can hang onto McKenna for the duration which I feel will be unlikely.

We re don't really have fewer options. Hirst started but got injured so we went with jackson anyway Morsy is missing but then we have Travis But we have sarmiento as an added extra too. Don't think the top 2 is gone Southampton have still to play the majority of the top 10 now. Leeds don't know if they want it or not. And get past Leicester and were back to playing those we have already beaten this season.

Yet another wet night in the ChampionsofInnsbruck household.

If they catch us by the end of the season then I’d say Southampton would be likely to finish above us anyway given how good they look. I can’t see us outpacing Saints but not maintaining a gap to Lids. [Post edited 21 Jan 2024 17:21]

Not really a four horse race though is it. Leicester for top spot. Southampton second. Leeds third and us fourth, not so much a race as an inevitability We have played really well and been brilliant but we have also come out best in many 50/50 games.

Why are so many of our fans wet wipes? Throwing in the towel in the middle of January when we've played most of our hardest fixtures and are joint second with a game in hand. People need to put on their big boy/girl pants and strap in for the ride because the players sure as sh!t aren't going to be rolling over the way some of our fans are.

I still don’t think people appreciate how well organised and how good a side we are. Coming out on the right side of 50:50’s, as if every other successful side doesn’t have to do that. Look at Leeds today. Or that it’s some how still fortuitous and a false position that we’re in, despite having played 27 games, including a lot of the tougher ones (on paper). If we average 2 points per game from here on in we’ll finish on 96 points. It’s a lower run rate than we’ve achieved so far this season, continuing that rate would be 99 points. We might well fall short of 2nd, who knows, but I would be surprised if we didn’t end with a points tally starting in a 9, which frankly you don’t achieve by being anything other than a very, very good side at this level. Whether it’s enough or not time will tell but even if we lose tomorrow night we’re still level on points with 2nd with 18 to play, including hosting them. We’ve got everything to play for, it’s been a remarkable return to the championship and some of the entitlement and negativity is so baffling. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Indeed. We've only lost three times this season, twice to Leeds and once away at West Brom. Two sides have beaten us and they'll both comfortably finish in the top 6 this season, and that is with us having played every side at least once now. The notion that we're definitely going to fall away massively and finish fourth (or fifth according to some) is such a load of tedious, negative nonsense. I reckon Southampton would happily swap places with us given the respective remaining fixtures, their last 19 games looks a much more daunting proposition than ours. Leeds still look capable of coughing up points to others when you least expect it and have ground to make up. We're bang in the race for promotion and we should be enjoying it and getting fully behind the team, not dribbling out a bit of wee and waving the white flag.
