Does anybody know where and when this photograph was taken? on 22:29 - Jan 30 by bluelagos | So would the players/officials have travelled on the ferry with a load of fans? Away games in Holland/Belgium must have been a piece of cake given the ferry routes from Felixstowe and Harwich. Those really were the days |
I went to both Feyenoord and Bruges, for the latter, we got the ferry to get us to Bruge about 6.00pm IIRC and then got bussed back to the overnight ferry straight after the match (lost in the last minute). We got back to Felixstowe in time for me to go to work, the things you could do when you were young!

Union Flags were the thing for both domestic and England international games. The St Georges Cross never made much of an impact until Euro 96

I do remember in the mid/late 70's there was a large all blue Union Jack at the back of the North Stand always liked that flag!
