That’s the Whittaker I know. Seems everything has to be just right for him before he’ll turn up. He’s a very strange player - I’m not sure I’d want him here as he blows too hot and cold. When he’s good he’s good, but when he’s bad he’s really bad. And can stay like that for years.

He wasn’t particularly popular there was he? He wasn’t down here at Swansea either (mostly from the managers; I think the fans mostly thought he wasn’t given a fair chance). It seems Schumacher knew how to keep him happy, but nobody else has managed to yet.
