Changes off the pitch this season 21:27 - May 13 with 4352 viewsMidlandBlue25

We’ve seen a lot of chat about new players etc. But what would you change about the match day experience at Portman Road?

I’d get someone in to replace Mark Murphy.
Self service drink machines in the concourses.
Show the scores of the top four leagues at half time

Bring back the Boot-iful game.

Or the Boat-iful game.

Or any half time entertainment.

My avatar does feature the car thing, although I had forgotten it was called that.

It's not an ITFC issue it's a provider issue and will never be sorted as the issue is you have 30000 extra people trying to access the local phone masts to join the network plus all the usual residents of the area too. It's too much for the infrastructure to handle.

It works on the same principle as your home network. Imagine if every 2 weeks you had your whole extended family come to your house join your network, then all try and start watching streaming content at the same time, even 1 gig connection would struggle with 100 devices all using that kind of data at the same time. Even if your connection was fast enough to handle that, your router would get overwhelmed with all that noise at the same time and would grind to a halt.

The cost of installing the infrastructure to cope with all the extra data being processed for a few hours every couple of weeks would be astronomical and providers would never get any extra return on that investment so why would they bother? The easiest answer is to tell people to live their lives for a couple of hours without depending on their mobile device, which is probably the correct answer anyway. You go to the football to take in the game/atmosphere anyway!

And check the scum and Leeds and others are losing. No need if at half time the scores are put on the board.

Poll: Is it Pink home and away from now on in

Self-service drink machines and showing league scores at halftime would improve match days at Portman Road.

Absolutely.

Good coffee and some scores with one final request.
Please stop Mark Murphy chanting blue army.

- Subsidised, good quality beer with bigger bars in the NS lower
- Pre-match a kind of float going round the pitch with attractive people on it giving out free milk (this is one of my main memories of PR as a kid)
- Bring back crates to stand on at the front of the stands
- Something gladiatorial on the pitch at half-time. Maybe actual gladiators.

MM is good! A proper Town fan. Also handled the pitch invasion well, I thought (although it was all very polite anyway).

I agree, but I don't think this is just an ITFC issue.

When I'm at Wembley for an England match I can't get a signal - and the stadium is sponsored by EE!

I have a dual SIM phone. 3 at the back of the Cobbold gives me 5G and great signal but everyone else around me at Huddersfield was getting nothing (everyone wanted the Leeds score, and nobody has a little transistor radio anymore!). At Wembley EE gets brilliant coverage, everything else is rubbish.
