I mean, they haven't. The Guardian writers are incredibly well informed, and they very rarely miss. It's more worrying this is from Steinberg, who very clearly has had the inside track at Chelsea.

Of course McKenna can always say no.

It was United two days ago and now it’s Chelsea who haven’t lost a league game since 4th Feb. Sacking Potch now whilst Chelsea are on the up after making so many young signings would be another level of ridiculous. It’s not happening.

All of these things can be true. Just because it's United two days ago and now Chelsea, doesn't mean either is false.

And it wouldn't be a surprise if they sacked him; the Chelsea new ownership group haven't generally been making decisions that make sense since they took over.

If Chelsea sack Poch, surely shows Kmac shouldn’t touch with a barge pole

The only Muff in Town.

This Jacob Steinberg needs a few messages sent over I think. He’s become more annoying than Chris Sutton in a fraction of the time.

Owners undecided on whether to keep Pochettino

The one who took them from bottom half to Europe while establishing a set of young players in the first team? They are mad if they let him go and McKenna even madder if he'd consider them after that. And everything else they did with their managers over the last few years.

They are a truly, truly awful club. Arrogance beyond belief. Dislike them far more than any other club. McKenna would be totally crazy to even think about taking the job if he was offered it. Thankfully (for you) he is far from crazy so I don't think you have anything to worry about here.

Mystic ibbleobnle

Never underestimate the stupidity of Chelsea

Chelsea will go for a more established top level manager, and I don’t think KM would be interested in that clusterf**k even if they were considering him.

Brighton speculation bothers me much more, but I genuinely believe they’ll blow up like Swansea eventually did. They’ll appoint their equivalent of Gary Monk soon. Their results post Xmas were ominous and they’ll ship out their best talent again this summer.

Which one will breach parole first?…popcorn at the ready…(What’s App group, Aug ‘25)
Poll: September 2025. Which one?

They and their supporters are insufferable. My best mate has been Chelsea long before the Russian’s millions, but all history for him doesn’t exist before then. He believes Chelsea should be Champions League every year and that because they are one of the big six, their reserve, B and youth teams should be competing in the lower leagues.

He liked Pochettino but tomorrow I’ll be told he was rubbish and had to go. Need better. Guardiola etc. I try to avoid talking about Chelsea as much as possible. Too annoying.

The American mush that owns them is squillions rich but clearly has no idea what he’s doing. How can you ever succeed when you run things like that?
