The T20 World cup starts next Saturday...there are some quite bizarre start times for UK viewers..I appear to have it on ESPN or Star Plus..I've just checked...woohoo.

Jim Laker and Richie Benaud in alternating slots. Wonderful. Tv cricket doesn't need a play by play commemtator and colour commentator, just leads to incessant chat. Obviously works okay on the radio as there are no visuals.

That lovely Somerset ( I think) burr of Arlott. The Range of voices on TMS from grumpy Fred Trueman, fairly posh CMJ, jovial Brian Johnston, the jocular over-blown public school boy persona of Blowers, E.W Swanton, more gruff Yorkshire from the Alderman, ever eager to please Welsh accented Tony Lewis. Bit blander nowadays. Aggers proably links the 2 eras.

Arlott was a Hampshire boy through and through.
