Reading Brett Johnson's comments in the article just posted by Phil, it looks like we may dip our toe into this should we achieve some stability in the Prem.
There are some obvious benefits around player development, FFP/PSR loopholes and the like, but I can't be the only one who is fundamentally opposed to something like this? Don't want it to be a point of negativity but I guess we are kind of exposed to the risks of these types of non-romantic football plays given our ownership structure now (especially post VC investment).

He'll have a fit when he reads that article lol Reading it myself, I'm not sure what he's talking about. Is he talking about a potential feeder club or a family of clubs with some common identity or brand?
I definitely don't like the second idea.
We might be at the top of the food chain in this family of clubs ( mixing metaphors badly here ) I can't see how as a Prem club we wouldn't be. If that is the model.

Why mainland Europe?
Let’s do it different and welcome an Irish &/or Scottish club into the family.
Probably to help bypass Brexit related work permit issues.
If you have a feeder team that you can send players out on loan to they are guaranteed appearances in a league where they can gain points to qualify for a UK work permit. The amount of points a player receives is dependant on the status of the league. The League of Ireland probably wouldn't be considered high enough for this to be a benefit and any team in the SPL would also face the same work permit issues we face as it's a UK-wide problem.
