Much as I like to defend the uniqueness of the Scottish Premiership I have my doubts as to whether the ageing players that Clermont is making available for transfer can cut it in the Premier League, or would be motivated to learn all the new skills they would need. The Premiership could be a good hunting ground for affordable players who do not expect the moon on a stick for wages but I think we have to look at the ones in the 26-28 age range. |  |

We don't really have cover for Davis at the moment. Free agent, bags of International experience with Croatia. As a squad filler, I think I would take him. | |

If we can fill 3 or 4 squad places with free agents that have this kind of experience, I would be happy. It frees up funds for the positions that really need strengthening in the starting X1. | |
