Of the matches I have watched, both of England's are among the worst games I've seen so far.

Slovenia and Serbia earlier was a slog as well.

It’s a questioned often asked at these tournaments, of our players, but do our top players simply play too many games compared to their European counterparts? Just posing the question, and certainly not offering that as an excuse , but I thought the whole team looked knackered out there tonight from the first whistle.

Plenty of non- English Premier League players at the Euros who don't seem affected so not relevant at all. The set up, mindset and tactics are all wrong rather than burn-out.

Very humid stadium against a team that closed down well. We have a lot of players that rarely play together. The most successful international sides always have a nucleus of players from 2-3 sides who play together regularly.

There are valid arguments about tactics and use of the players we do have, but we have a lot of very talented individual midfielders without having multiple world class players. We are almost certainly through the group but we are unlikely to have enough about us to beat the top sides.

Not many clubs have a team full of world class players though. They have that mix no different to England.

However how many of them play a RB at lb. A RB at dm and ask their goal scoring attackers to sit on the halfway line.

There wasn't a great Danish press today. We were just slow in our transitions and having trent standing next to rice invited them to form a solid 4 across the midfield. Who just had a simple job of marking a man and shuffling over depending where the ball went.

a niche perspective

Well, I get coming from a hot humid country, the Danes are used to conditions like that. Nothing in the conditions that suggested to me only one team should spend 90 mins walking, or in Kane’s case standing around then collapse like it’s the end of extra time after 120 mins lung busting.

The conditions were the same for most teams. Too many games? Well the Spanish player with the chimney brush hair managed ok. He plays for Chelsea.

The Danish bloke at CH Westergard played all season at Leicester including a cup run. Ran more yards than the cart horse eleven put together.

Pitch? Oh we must have been allocated the soggy bit. Players playing together? Many of that lot have played plenty together and many of the other teams don’t even play in their own countries.

World class players: how many did Denmark have? None yet they were streets ahead.

Maybe England doesn’t have any or few world class players, but there is no excuse for that ‘effort’ - it was unacceptable.

The Danes only appeared to close down well when compared to our non-existent press, they were also playing under the same roof on the same crappy pitch.

Which international teams these days have a nucleus of players from the same 2 or 3 sides, that's demonstrably not true in Spain, Germany or France. Their players regularly don't play together.

Enough of the lame excuses. It was hot, it was humid, we woz tired, we play too many matches, the pitch was crap yet it's only England who are really stinking out this tournament. Other teams seem to be thriving under the same conditions.
