This sounds harsh and probably is, but you'd be forgiven for thinking Gareth has watched him play no.10 for Madrid and excelled and simply decided he'll do the same for England.

I don’t do booing. Never have, never will and I was there when Carlton Palmer waltzed through our whole team like Maradona for the third or fourth for Wednesday.
