Unfortunately, I'm not sure having an absent MP is particularly out of the ordinary these days.
Our MP is a running joke amongst the locals. Try to contact him during the 'off season' and you'll never hear a peep from him, but the second an election is announced he's outside the school, he's knocking on your door, he's saying hello in the street. You can't escape the bloke for a month and then he'll disappear once he's elected again | | | |
