I can’t believe some people on here criticising the players.
Nobody is going to be given it their all for a mid pre season friendly! Madness to write some of these players off already. “Ben Johnson is rubbish” “what league did Hull play in last season?” Just some of the gems from apparent supports sitting near me yesterday.
As said I believe plenty more will come in before the end of the window and we will stay up. Not sure what some of you were all expecting?
They ain’t going to be spending that sort of money on the ground and neglect the team, this project has to work and they will make it work. Proof is in the pudding from the last 2 seasons, if any team can step up it’s us. Mainly due to our Set up, staff, coaches….. we simply plan better and want it more |  | | |  |

your right, this season will be more of a slog to get points for survival. Some fans have thought the last two season are the norm rather than exceptional which is what they have been. A , hopefully, season of consolidation, which is what last season was supposed to be in the champ', but this is the big time and it'll take time to be a Brentford/Brighton etc. | | | |

Don't think criticism is the right word I felt we never played particularly well McKenna said the same later I understand that Fortuna were ahead in their training regime. Nothing wrong with people being honest in a assessment. | | | |

I don't think anyone on the forum has been overly negative and in the ground I didn't hear any moaning myself.
We all probably echo what McKenna said, we need more players to be competitive and we can play a lot better than we did. |  |

People near me in the ground were not negative - if fact the opposite. Anything good was cheered or applauded.
On reflection, it was good having strong opposition as a marker to where we are both in personnel and cohesion. There was a lot of people finding their feet, fitness and knowing where they’re meant to be.
I hope we can at the very least sign another forward and a strong midfielder. The full back will be fine. I particularly like the centre half and keeper. The latter looks a really good character and has size and presence.
