I'm planning to catch up on S1, so I can watch S2 on binge. Must say, I'm mostly interested in what he says about coming to terms with his accident. I can't imagine what the guy has gone through during recovery. Aside from the devastating physical scars, his speech is affected, judging by the clips, and his emotional well-being has taken a huge battering. Well done to Freddie for battling through and being brave enough to talk about it publicly.

Yes, & not just a huge impact on him, but the whole group too, those young lads suddenly grew up a lot.

Above all I'm impressed not just by the way they & FF got through such a hard few months, but by Freddie's remarkable ability to mentor youngsters. He's truly gifted in that respect, knows exactly what to say & when, in what tone, has a sure touch. They're not an easy bunch either, particularly the lad on the spectrum who finds new experiences, noise & food difficult - in India!

Wow as someone who comes from a family of people on the spectrum, I'm sure that will resonate with me. I find it so sad that, in the world of fame, so much emphasis is put on appearance, even in sport.

Freddie is and always will be a sporting great
I think l of football players such as Peter Beardsley and Franck Ribieri. I imagine it is hard to be in the limelight when you are also known for your for physical appearance.

A recent podcast I listened to recalled the "Phoenix from the Flames" series on Fantasy Football League with Baddiel and Skinner. Peter Beardsley was really uncomfortable with recreating the England goal they had picked, because they parodied Beardsley as Quasimodo. So, so unkind, and Frank Skinner has since said it was totally inappropriate. What were they thinking?

Wasn’t aware of that re Beardsley, in fact I thought him quite attractive!

Certainly sad that physical appearance counts for so much in some quarters - never judge a book by its covers etc.
